Our Beliefs and Principles
· All individuals have the right to security and protection under the law.
· All individuals have the right to live free of assaults, abuse and violence.
· No person should be forced to remain in a violent or abusive home because of the lack of alternatives.

Our Philosophy
It is the philosophy of the Peace River Women’s Shelter Society that everyone has the right to live free of violence and abuse. Everyone also has the right to security and protection under the law.
No person should be forced to remain in a violent or abusive home because of a lack of alternatives. This means that survivors of abuse must have the economic resources to survive independently of an abusive relationship.
The right to integrity of the person includes the right to make informed choices among alternatives regarding one’s own personal life. The Peace River Regional Women’s Shelter Society promotes the education and empowerment of survivors of abuse. It also promotes broad education of the public to promote non-violence, equality of the sexes and healthy relationships.
